United Way Day of caring

Every year on the anniversary of 9.11, Trident United Way has whats called "day of caring".
"Day of Caring is an annual, community-based event rallying thousands of people in the Tri-county area to complete hands-on projects. Volunteer teams from local businesses and organizations wishing to give time and services are matched with participating nonprofit organizations in an effort to improve our community needs."

I covered JW Aluminum's Day of caring, as I did last year, and we started out at the DisAbility Resource Center. Just like we did last year... They did a whole lotta painting , moving walls, and building desks this year....

Then I rolled over to The Ronald McDonald House.
Jeff Thompson and His Crew was putting Shelves in the closets, rebuilding some fencing and painting...

This Lady might be a bit familiar... Yep.. Its Kyle !

Then over to the Carter May Retirement home where Brian Ables and the rest of his guys were doing yard work... ugh...

Then over to the Lowcountry Food Bank Where I found Kenny Light and his guys packing food to be distributed to the people in the low country that are less fortunate than alot of us are.
It's really sobering to see how many people in the low country are literally starving and how many Families can't afford to put dinner on the table at night. Think about that the next time you reach for a butterfinger and a Mt. Dew... I will...
